Splitting from its ancestor, the sanddigger seaswimmer has adapted to life along the sea floor. With a modified spade-like tooth, it sifts the sand, digging out species that live within it. While the prey is still stunned, it gulps them up before continuing on. Now solitary, it only leaves the bottom in order to fill its lungs with air. They produce four to five young who head off into the world immediately after birth without any care from the mother. They'll reach maturity within a year, and can then go on to live around twenty more years.
