Ancestor:Descendants:

The scoopswent replaced its ancestor the hoverswent in Huggs River and Huggs Lake. There it evolved to skim the waters for microbes growing on the waters surface. Its neck has gotten longer so its wings don't hit the water as much when skimming. Also it has a large throat sack to hold water. Once it scoops up the water it will use its extremely fine mouth filter to squirt back out the water and strain out the microbes.

Like its ancestor it can still photosynthesize with its wing membranes. It uses orange photosynthesis which means it only absorbs blue light. Its legs are use less so it must rest on the waters surface. Its wings are strong and it can take off from the water. Its butt-nostril is very long and is kept upright when in there water to keep from drowning. In the air however its used for steering.
