The segmented pyamus split from its ancestor, the jagged pyamus. It has come into shallower waters in the southern seas of Dass-Clarke Temperate Sea and Wind Polar Sea. They have improved their feeding and respiration by segmenting their outer chitin shell. This now exposes their red fungi-like insides. On the outer surface have formed little cilia which bring in food particles such as microbes or organic matter. These same hole also bring in air for respiration, expel waste and even allow their spores to be releases into the water. For the best chance of reproductive success they all release their spores in mid summer. This way even if other fauna eat their spores some will be able to survive.
