The shovelswarmer split of from its ancestor. Since the giant swarmer went extinct the shovelswarmer was able to evolve bigger again, but not to big since it competes with its ancestor. To decrease the competition it has specialized on eating salt moss by using its odd shaped mouth. The sand comes out through its rear like the water do. The eye is positioned so it is protected from sand. Other than that it works like its ancestor.
