Ancestor:Descendants:

The silicoutine replaced its ancestor, the ferrumtine. Without the abundance of iron in Dixon it changed its diet to silica. It has doubled the amount of flagella to help it move around in the ice and snow of the mountain and polar regions of Dixon. On its "head" is a sensory organ to help it search out silica. It also uses these openings to consume the silica. They still reproduce via mitosis.
