The skimming riverswarmer split from its ancestor, the river swarmer. It has specialized in eating the megaluminuseven, which grows on the water surface, its mouth faces up so it can suck up food. It is green both to be camouflaged with the green megealuminuseven, but also so it can still photosynthesize. They spawn in the spring and live in large swarms combing the water surface for clumps of megealuminuseven.
