Ancestor:Descendants:

The skirtstalk replaced its ancestor, the orange spore stalk on Yokto beach. It is almost identical to its ancestor except for a small skirt around the stem. This skirt is used for collecting more light, thus out competing its ancestor. Their spores which are still spread by the wind and are still kept inside a chamber placed on top of its stalk which is opened once the chamber is filled with spores. The spores can form thick orange clouds able to choke small animals like its ancestor before it, only, the skirtstalk is even more numerous and the spores can choke bigger animals. Their roots drink water preventing it from drying out and also to cool down the cell's in its body, the water will leave skirtstalk through the stem, making it moist to the touch and photosynthesis more efficient. It also has a special adaptation, its roots can filter out the salt from the ocean water and survive on the beach without need for a freshwater source. However it cannot survive underwater.
