Ancestor:Descendants:

The drake cloudswarmer split from its ancestor, moving to soma salt flats and the biomes within it. It now forms a symbiotic relationship similar to its ancestor's with the slarti glasstower. It will spread the seeds of its symbiote, and return recieves food, shelter, and a nursery. It never touches the hot ground of the salt flats, instead hanging off the edge of the fruit with its tentacles, which evolved from a mutation that brought back its distant ancestor's gene for tentacles. The loss of stabilization is compensated for by the growth of its second pair of wings. They spawn in the female glasstowers, and juveniles are raised in them, filtering cryodome hydroutine out of the water. When their is a shortage of glasstower fruit, the cloudswarmers can filter microbes out of the water.
