The slither longtail split from its ancestor. Its ancestor moved into the Cola Twilight Sea Mount at the same time as the tetracrusicruge's ancestor, and so began to prey on it. Though the tetracrusicruge's adaptations significantly helped its survival, the slither longtail still hasn't let up.
It has become smaller to reduce energy cost, as well as make it easier to snag its prey; its beak is longer to pick up prey. It has regained eye strength to look out for predators. It combines this with camouflage matching the chitjorns in the area to stay out of sight. If it feels threatened it will retreat amongst groups of plataeucrustums, since their geometric shape provides a screen from predators and space to swim.
Individuals live for 3 years, reaching maturity in the first year. They 30-40 sticky eggs on the sides of plateaucrustums during the colder months, giving the young time to hatch during the warmer months when food is easier to find.
