Ancestor:Descendants:

The spiked ferrumtine replaced its ancestor, the sharp ferrumtine. It is now immobile and is no longer a detritivore. Its has grown in size and has developed deadly spikes which keep soft microbes from getting too close to feed on them. Its spikes are made of iron which helps them stay strong and sharp. It still reproduces via mitosis.
