Ancestor:Descendants:

The spiked luminbean replaced its ancestor in Bone River and Bone Swamp. The luminbean population was seriously threatened by the waterworms, especially the dumpling waterworm that hollowed out the luminbeans to make their homes. The spiked luminbean has developed long, sharp spikes to discourage these creatures. They aren't perfect though and tend to break off easily, but in combination with the development of a more sturdy skin, they're good enough to help the luminbean survive.

The spiked luminbean has also developed a new way to reproduce. The top of the pillar, right under the luminuseven leaves, has a soft and sponge-like structure. Occasionally one of the leaves will fall of, taking a chunk of the pillar with it. It will drift away and slowly sink to the bottom as the 'sponge' absorbs more water, where it will grow into a new luminbean.
