The spiny raspworm split from its ancestor, the powder petitworm. It few herbivores eatting the local purple flora, some of the powder petitworms started eating the leaves instead. To help them eat they developed a rasping tongue to rip off parts of lea leaves and lick them up. They are slightly bigger than their ancestor and have spines all over their thorax. Their wings too have saw like edges to keep predators from eating them. Like their ancestors they have yellow eyes going down the back of their abdomen and many small breathing holes on their head to be able to breathe easier.
