Ancestor:Descendants:

The spiral cryostalk has replaced its ancestor, the cryostalk on Day Tundra Island. Due to island gigantism it has grown to 10 times its ancestor's size. It now has a new spiral shape. Other than that it is much the same as it ancestor. The cells inside cryostalks act like a sponge, absorbing the water collected by the root-bulb and distributing it to the photosynthesizing cells, and vice versa. They use the same glass-like lenses as their ancestor, making the ground where they are present sparkle. Like their ancestors, they are very efficient in getting nutrients from the ice and soil. They need very little nutrients to grow and can live on ice.
