Ancestor:Descendants:

To navigate the swamps of post-flooding Sagan 4, the grasping plents of the coast evolved long stilt-like legs. Furthermore, their mouth, eyes, and, most importantly, posterior vent moved towards the top of the body. The stilt plents pursue an omnivorous lifestyle, eating any foliage or small animals within reach. The structure of the plent's legs means they cannot bend down and are limited to eating things very near mouth level. Due to the new conditions, the juveniles are not regurgitated straight away. Instead, they spend some time growing in the large throat-pouch of their parent. When they are big enough, the parent spits them out onto a nearby shore.
