Ancestor:Descendants:

The swamp douostage split from it's ancestor, the ocean tristage. Some of the ocean tristages living in the Slarti River were washed downstream into the Slarti Salt Lake and Slarti Salt Bog. The swamp tristage has a slightly shorter lifespan than it's ancestor, often jumping straight from juvenile to adult in a few days. Most swamp douostages survive for only a few weeks at most, but can reproduce quite rapidly. Due to the smaller environment it now inhabits, the swamp tristage has become smaller, and it's tentacles have become slightly elongated in order to better situate themselves in the murky bog waters.
