The Pit is a massive hole in the ground in the Razo Lava Tube Caves, it was formed by lava eating away at the rock under the floor which eventually collapsed. The walls contain lava, making them a safe haven for thermophilic organisms. The depth of the pit is almost half of a kilometer, and at the bottom there is absolutely no light.
