The tlacyto splits from its ancestor, the tlafus, and loses its ability to feed on salt. It has developed a cytoskeleton to maintain the cell shape. It has developed a trunk-like structure, with which it can suck sasules for food. Its trunk is sharp so it can penetrate the sasule sulfur wall. The new light-blue organelle is used to digest other cells. A new flagellum has evolved so it can "rampage" with higher speed in the sasule wall.
