Ancestor:Descendants:

The towerproutine replaced its ancestor, the teproutine mebos. With so many other producer microbes around, it specialized in being a detritivore instead. It has become immobile and its roots now absorb the rotting organic matter from the soil it is in. The roots also help anchor it in place. Its 2 branch-like structures asexually produce airborne spores. These float in the air and then land randomly. If it is in something dead it will quickly grow, if not it will stay dormant. Once it starts growing its only purpose is to grow big enough to produce more spores as quickly as possible before its food source is used up. It has also grown larger in size. Its thicker trunk helps support its larger size as well as protect it from the cold. its spores can stay dormant in the ice and snow for many months until food comes for them to grow again.
