Ancestor:Descendants:

The tuft currybug split from its ancestor and has spread inland. It now keeps its legs and mouth underground to aid its mimic. The legs are stronger and arranged to make digging through topsoil easy. It feeds on the roots of the plants it mimics and eats. Because it can no longer escape quickly from predators the hairs that it uses for mimicry are now quill-like, along with becoming a defensive weapon this development also helps in mimicking the various sharp plants that it feeds on.
