Ancestor:Descendants:

The tundra goth tree replaced its ancestor. Its main stalk is thick and short to defend against the cold, the jointed leaf stalks are also very thick to further protect its small leaves. Its thick flesh is darker than its ancestor, this warms the organism and in turn the water that is moved into the leaves during photosynthesis which allows maximum efficiency by warming the purple leaves from the inside out. Due to their ability to maximize sugar production and warm themselves they are rather common in Barlowe Tundra and fields of them line large lengths of the Ittiz River banks.
