Splitting from its ancestor, the tunneling shellworm has adapted to live in the vast tunnel systems dug out by the cavohoe. Thriving in the darkness, they have shrunken in size in order to fully exploit their new home, scuttling along as they feed on the food stores and waste of the hundreds of inhabitants of the colonies. Occasionally forming vast swarms in times of plenty, they inhabit all levels of the colony while occasionally surfacing at night to feed on decaying flora matter and their other food sources.

These are randomly selected, and organized from lowest to highest shared taxon. (This may correspond to similarity more than actual relation)
