Splitting from their ancestor, the volvoglobe has developed a unique reproductive strategy. Once it reaches its full size, numerous smaller volvoglobes develop all over its body. It dies at this point, after which the wind will blow it along the ground, during which the next generation of volvoglobes will fall off and "take root", eventually growing up and repeating the process. This reproductive strategy has allowed them to spread throughout Xeno Tundra Island.
