The vulkyen split from its ancestor, the yenaptaks and adapted to the new volcanic biome in Ittiz. There it had to deal with the heat of the volcanic soil and hot springs. It now can tolerate higher temperatures than its ancestors could. It no longer uses its leaves to dig itself in the dirt and only has 2 phases of development; an adult form which collects sunlight and a seed form which is carried by the wind or steam from the volcano. Each of its leaves now grow little seeds near its base and each seed has fine hairs on them to help them float in the air. The leaves now have more photosythetic cells to help it absorb light which is why they are more purple than their ancestor's were. They ave also grown to twice their ancestors size due to the rich volcanic soil they grow in.
