The Armored Trapinfilter split from its ancestor the Trapinfilter. It is very much like its ancestor except it has grown twice its size and now has armor on its filtering tentacles and root-like tentacles. This is to protect it from predators who might try to rip them off. Once full the filtering tentacles will retract into the shell to be licked off. It can also dig straight down into the sand if a larger predator come. Every summer they will spawn huge clouds of spore into the coastal waters. This causes a feeding frenzy for about a week. They do this to maximize the number of offspring that will survive.
