Ancestor:Descendants:

The basilliphyta genus group has replaced its ancestor, the darwin basilliphyta, along with the marine basilliphyta and the basillimat. Each cell has a thick cell wall that prevents the cell from bursting and keeps excess salt out. All of the cells mat together into a tremendous sheet that can reach up to 10 meters wide, yet such a sheet is only 1 centimeter thick. The outer layer filters the saltwater until they die; this filtered water is used for growth by the layer underneath. Some of these sheets can be toxic. They reproduce through mitosis and are found in all bodies of saltwater.
