The basillovar split from its ancestors. Due to the predatory pressures from the unkropi and yanviru, the oceanvars of Arctic Polar Sea formed hybrid-symbiosis relationships with other microbes in the region. The basillovar is one such relationship between its ancestor and the basillimat. They are so successful that they have also spread to Raq Temperate Bay.
A shield of basillimat cells encircles the oceanvar body, with energy from photosynthesis shared amongst the whole. The basillimat cells are useful because of the toxins they release when killed, which drive unkropi and yanviru away.
