The bigmouth strainerbeak replaced its ancestor in the temperate and tropical zones of Jujubee Ocean. It has doubled in size and has developed an even larger beak. Like its ancestor it has hairlike fibers that filter out plankton from the water. This includes plankton of their own kind, since they start out as plankton. Only the lucky reach adult size. They are quick growers and can reach full size in only a matter of months. At each stage eating different size plankton. Krillpedes and miniswarmers make up the majority of their diet when adults.
They tend to follow the currents to where the most food is. In doing so they can create massive shoals containing thousands upon thousands of individuals, and which can be both mile wide and long with no space. Such a tantalizing food source has caught the attention of various predators, and since then their yearly global migrations are greatly anticipated by those that which to exploit them.
