Behavior

Breathing and Blood

Gilltails have gill filled tubes that run through their bodies, water enters through an opening under the beak and exits through holes or slits on the sides of the body, usually near the back end. Their blood is red like their beakworm ancestors.

Diet & Energy

Gilltail diets vary widely. One (the Wisker Gilltail) will even consume the eggs and young of other gilltails.
