The blooblblega replaced its ancestor in the Darwin coasts. Its respiratory system has improved from its ancestor. It now has a central stem through each leaf, in order to more efficiently distribute energy throughout the leaf. Additionally, waste gases are shunted to bladders throughout the leaf, which make the leaves more buoyant; the leaves deform into a corrugated pattern as the bladders grow. These changes have allowed the individual blooblblega to double in size.
