Splitting from it's ancestor, the blue gillfin returned to life in the oceans. There they found food not too different from that of their ancestral habitat in the Ovi waterway. But living here has it's costs. They are preyed upon by many creatures, such as the gilgantic, which put a strain on their numbers. Those that had coloring that allows them to blend in were the one's to reproduce, resulting in their blue coloring.
