Splitting from its ancestor, the blue gillfin returned to life in the oceans. There they found food not too different from that of their ancestral habitat in the Ovi waterway. But living here has its costs. They are preyed upon by many creatures, such as the gilgantic, which put a strain on their numbers. Those that had coloring that allows them to blend in were the ones to reproduce, resulting in their blue coloring.
