The borinvermee split from its part of the genus branch vermees. It developed when some vermees made it to Solpimr island, finding a new food source in the micro flora growing on the fuzzboras. They spend most of their lives squirming and tunneling around on the outer layers of the fuzzbora trunks, eating the microflora growing there; though some individuals will leave their respective host 'bora if the conditions stop being habitable. They gained a new adaptation in the form of their extendable eye-stalks. The Eye is connected to the main body by two chitin plates. The plates have nerve contacts all along them, but are not rigidly connected to the main body. In this way, individuals can command eye-stalks to extend or retract, allowing them to look outside a hole, or above some microflora.
Individuals live for 2 years, reproducing in time with the lunar cycle, mating every new moon. Birthed young still have a coating of mucus, and are laid either inside tunnels in the outer epithelial layer of a 'bora, or on the ground where they can latch onto larger fauna; living this first phase of life for 2 months.
