Splitting from its ancestor, the bubbleweed seaswimmer has, as its name suggests, adapted to living within marine bubbleweed. Lurking amongst the thick foliage, it waits in ambush, swaying gently in the current as it wraps around a strand of bubbleweed. As prey swims by, it lunges forward and strikes it before it even realizes what has occurred. They reproduce two to three times a year, producing over a dozen young every time. The young will also lurk amongst the bubbleweed, feeding on the larva and young of the other species that live there.
