The bullroach evolved from the mekoroach. When the mekoroach came upon the beaches of Vivus Island, it found many crawlerpede bodies ripe for the eating. They ended up completely leaving the water, but they developed holes in their skin at the front of their heads, at which was a simple lung-like system that sucked air in and out, to keep them from dying. Over time, island gigantism led to the mekoroach growing to 3 meters long. Its color changed to primarily black-grey, with stripes of red. As it was the largest creature on Vivus Island, it soon began to kill and eat crawlerpede, mostly by biting them in half. Despite their size, bullroaches are incredibly fast, but stopping can be a problem due to their weight.
In this way, the bullroach serves as a control on the growth of the crawlerpedes, but the bullroaches themselves can be very rare. They now tend to a burrow in which they lay their eggs, but the young don't run for the water anymore.
Bullroaches are known for being cannibalistic, and will fight over mates by locking their jaws together, then pushing each other around until one bullroach loses its balance, falling over. The loser is then food for the female and winning male.
