Ancestor:Descendants:

The buttblaster split from its ancestor, the sulfuric nobit. It has migrated to the plains. Now with no sulfur to lick it had to evolve new butt-nostril adaptations. It now has one butt nostril that breathes in and out normally while the other 2 are specifically for "blasting". It has evolved 2 large "butt-sacs" which can fill up with air or water. Normally there is no water source around so it will "blast" would be predators away with a pressurized burst of air and sound. The sound of the blast makes a loud boom which can not only scare away predators but stun them as well. Those that live near the rivers will fill out on water and create a pressurized water gun effect to soak predators.

Their top pair of side spikes has evolved into a support stand for when it has to lift up it back end to "blast". Males will still fight for mates using their side spikes but sometimes they will even air blast each other as well. They live in social groups, protecting each other from predators by sticking close together.
