The iceblaster split from its ancestor, the buttblaster. It has moved to the polar regions of Barlowe where it eats only the numflora. It is able to do so due to both its immunity to the numflora's anesthetic chemical and its wooden face plates. They protect it from being poked by the numflora's thorns. Due to the limited number of food to eat it has shrunk in size and reproduces slower and with less babies. It lives in social groups, protecting each other from predators by sticking close together.
Its side thorns now face backwards to protect it from any predators that might try to bite it. And if that doesn't deter them they can use their "butt-sacs" to give a blast of cold air or even water! This can be deadly since a wet predator soon will freeze if they do not dry off. The sound of the blast makes a loud boom which can not only scare away predators but stun them as well.
