Ancestor:Descendants:

The cave pipent split from its ancestor. It now lives in Mae Sandstone Caves where it feeds on cave cryodomes and maerundi. In order for it to get to the cave cryodomes that grow on the cave walls it had to adapt larger claws to help it climb. Its eyes have gotten better to see in the dim light. It ears too have become larger so it can listen for maerundi to eat. Its coloring match the white sandstone and the blue cave cryodomes that grow on it.

Like their ancestor males have woody thorns on the ends of their cheeks. Older males have larger thorns. Females however, don't have horns. They are semi-social and will tolerate each other. Females will take care of their offspring until they reach adulthood. They will let out loud echoing calls if a predator come into the cave. Once the call is sounded all of them hide or find higher ground. They no longer bury their dead like their ancestors did. However the dead are often covered in rocks. There is no specific pack leader anymore and males only socialize with females during mating season.
