The cavepede genus group has replaced not only its ancestor, the cavepede, but also the sublyme cavepede. This genus group is vital for the cave ecosysytems because they fill the niche of zooplankton in Sagan 4 within the caves. They consume phtyoplankton with their baleen mouths. Due to them lacking eyes, they use their antennae to find their way around. All have stubs for legs besides their claws, 7 body segments along with the head and tail, and long antennae. Like all anipedes, they have blue copper blood. They are also asexual and produce spores.
