The chromofeef replaced its ancestor, the feef. It has regained much of the features its glowsnapper ancestor had; such as 4 limbs with toes. It is much more mobile than its ancestor, and can both swim and walk. Its sticky tongue is now used to catch prey in water, land and air. It has developed more advanced eyes to help it track prey without having to turn its head.
Its life cycle is similar to its ancestor's, and it must return to the rivers to lay its eggs. Unlike their ancestors they do not raise their young, who are left to defend for themselves. They are solitary creatures who only meet to mate. They are also ambush predators who use their color changing skin to blend in with their surroundings.
