Ancestor:Descendants:

The cryo tower has split from its ancestor, the cryosagania. The cryo tower obtains more light for photosynthesizing than its ancestor because instead of receiving the light that filters through the ice and snow, it can now receive the light directly. To do this, it now faces upward, with the skinny part up, allowing part of the organism to exist above the snow. Its flagellum has evolved into primitive roots, absorbing water and nutrients to nourish the organism. Occasionally, the wind blows part of the stem off, allowing the top cells to fall on the ground, creating a new organism.
