The cryocannon split from its ancestor. It has only one major change: its rate of fire on the reproductive system. It maintains its ancestor's method of fire. However, it has developed a "panic trigger"; if the larger leaf-ring is bent (such as when the individual is being uprooted), the cannon will fire a single violent burst in a last-ditch effort to spread its seeds; a small spark is discharged at the site between chambers, which kicks off the final burst. It keeps a large pressurized reservoir of liquid in a bottom chamber for this purpose. It still uses a smaller upper chamber for regular discharge use.
