Ancestor:Descendants:

The crystank walker replaced its ancestor, the flashwalker. It lives symbiotically with the crystank shell. It will absorb its sugar from with its fungi-like roots of the crystank shell, while letting it feed on its blood. In addition the crystank shell protects it from predators. Its eggs are coated in the spores of the crystank shell. This makes sure both species start their symbiotic relationship at birth. Neither can survive on their own. If the crystank shell grows too big it will secret an enzyme to stop it from growing anymore.

The red fungi inside is much integrated into its nervous system and it can actually enhance its neural capacity. Since they can no longer see the crystank shell has developed light sensors on the front part of the outer shell. These primitive eyes are save under a transparent chitin holes. The red-fungi and its own tissues are very similar since they both shared a common ancestor.

Its exoskeleton have gotten thicker on its belly in case it gets turned over. Also its legs are more joined like its distant ancestor so it can move better. Its head has elongated to its mouth is closer to the ground so it doesn't have to move its neck and thus keeps a complete seal with the crystank shell. It no longer has eyes at all on its head too.
