The dartirs are the genus group that has managed to replace the dartir. This group consists of wingworms that are highly maneuverable. They primarily feed on decaying organic matter of any kind including carrion or leaf litter. Despite lacking eyes, they manage to get around with smell and their sensitive hairs that can detect movement. They all have a sort of horn on the front of their heads; this horn is used for holding itself in place without using its wings as much along with stinging other organisms that bother it. They also have an extension of their carapace that can act as a foot while it consumes organic matter. They all have a cloaca at the bottom of their abdomens that are used for defecation and mating. They all mate during the end of the summer and lay their eggs within any sort of large amounts of rotting matter and die.
