The dubsoah split from its ancestor and improved its absorptive function, increase the root size. Its association with nitrogen fixing microorganisms was improved, promoting the development of many nodules around and into the tips of its roots, while also produces and stores cyanides into the bulky underground part. These compounds help to protect the species, being more noticed in the root tips. The visible part above ground is quite small and quickly regenerates if damaged.
