The fernplent split from its ancestor, the pineplent. It has now re-adapted to live in the tropical rainforest. Like its distant ancestor it has grown larger and grows taller and taller to reach above the canopy. Its needles have turned into fern-like leaves. It has thick sap which heals it quickly and even captures small creatures in it.
