Ancestor:Descendants:

Splitting from its ancestor, the flattened glassprout has developed a shallow but long-reaching root system to capitalise on the soil created by its ancestor, it uses these spare nutrients to increase it's girth and create more stored nutrients and photosynthetic area. Unlike its ancestor, it no longer houses nitrogen-fixing microbes, as it has favored faster root growth. The primary method of reproduction is now from these roots, which often tangle between individuals, mixing DNA and creating a new individual on the spot. It can also spread by asexual methods using leaves detatched by the wind.
