The glaalgaes genus group replaced its ancestors, the glaalgae, greenhouse cryodome, hollowdome, pioneer hollowdome, temperate hollowdome, rainforest hollowdome, igloo cryodome, cryostalk, cryolens, pioneer glasstuft, blue longleaf, flattened glassprout, reflectabsorb, pioneer lensbranch, groovy glasstalk, pioneer glasstalk, pioneer glassbud, pioneer glasstwist, pioneer groovestalk, poolalgae, glass colony, river gloloni, and other small glass flora. The glaalgaes are a very diverse genus who come in many shapes and sizes. They all have an outer layer of photosynthetic chitin lenses. Like its ancestors it absorbs magenta light with its cyan chloroplasts and reproduces via asexual budding. Inside is a fungi-like interior and primitive root which form a bulb. These work in symbiosis with nitrocycle microbes. Thus they are an important pioneer flora for colonizing polar and mountain regions of Sagan 4. Sadly because of their lenses which help them retain heat and melt surrounding ice or snow this also keeps them from spreading to more tropical regions due to over heating. In addition they are completely terrestrial and require some soil to survive.
