The gec giltail split from their ancestor, moving to a new niche. They live alongside their ancestors, eating the marbleflora that are native to the rivers and swamp. They will also eat cardiaflorm buds that make their way into the river. They are brown in color, allowing themselves to blend into the muddy waters of the Gec river system. Other than these facts, and a slight size advantage, they are not much different than their ancestors. Hybrid offspring occur from time-to-time, however these offspring suffer from outbreeding depression and are not very successful.
