Ancestor:Descendants:

The glassetia replaced its ancestor and developed a thick cell wall in order to keep it protected from the cold environment. It became darker and replaced its seven pseudopods by a thick translucent membrane, resembling a mosaic, which inflates from both sides of the cell, increasing the surface able to get sunlight. In the absence of light it will feed from silica, used to reinforce its shell. It remains close to the water surface most of time, swimming to the light source.
