The glassleaf replaced its ancestor, the northern glasstower. It has gotten even taller and has developed spherical "leaves" on branches. These "leaves" can absorb better than the rest of their lenses on their trunk. At the base of the trunk is thick chitin to help it from toppling over and protect it from herbivores eating its roots.
Like its ancestor it bears fruit, however small clusters of fruit will bud off each spherical "leaf". With additional height most herbivores such as the polar glasseater are too short to reach its leaves. In addition cryodome hydroutine still grow inside its trunk like its ancestors have done. The northern triwalkers and tripodian may a have a harder time getting their fruit but its not enough to discourage them from trying.
